Are you aware that the Army Review Board (and therefore presumably the U.S.Army) does NOT recognize that the 11th Airborne was in the Army of Occupation - Japan?? I know it (was there,) and you probably know it but the Board of Review will not acknowledge it and that leaves a bunch of us old men unable to get our discharges corrected.. It's a "Catch 22" thing -- the regulation cited quite clearly says that it applies only to units into Japan after the peace treaty was signed and the 11th was there prior to the signing. Sure would appreciate any and all help.........

Hi Carl, I know also, as you state, that my Dad with the 11th Airborne, went into Yokohama, Japan (have a letter from Dad to my mother from there) and it is dated Sept, 1945, as you said, BEFORE the treaty was signed. Explain more about what you mean about "discharges corrected"? Did you know my Dad, Harry "Pete" Schoppy? (he was in the jump on Los Banos). Best regards, Enid (Schoppy) Prettiman eprettiman@comcast.net
